The Sandals Named Ipanema
|
Ebay $33.99
THE Ipanema Gisele Bundchen collection of footwear by Grendene is inspired by the legends of the Brazilian Indian people and the environmental issue faced by them.
More than just seeking inspiration from the Brazilian Indian legends to create a new collection, Grendene took up the cause of the Kisedje Indians by supporting the ”Y Ikato Xingu” campaign aimed at preserving the headwaters of the Xingu river and the forests that protect the flow of its water. Initially launched in 2005, Part of the income from the sale of these products will support the campaign.
International supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who hails from Brazil, also took a personal interest in the workshop. The supermodel is responsible for personally hand-picking the tribal imageries that are found on the insoles of all the sandals.
Bundchen recently travelled to Germany to promote her Ipanema 2008 collection. Nice model, nice shoes.
