Top 5 Fashion Blitz during the Campaign Trail Leading to Obama’s Win
|
As America celebrates this historic moment as Barack Obama becomes the first African-American President, we take a look back on the top fashion highlights during the whole campaign trail both from the Democrat and Republican camps.
Never in the history of election campaign, since the time of fashion icon, Jackie Kennedy-Onassis, stirred up so much public interest regarding fashion styles and preferences of the prominent women in all the convention events and campaign speeches. People talked about how Michelle Obama loves to wear sleeveless clothes while Cindy McCain was rarely seen in them.
I wanted to include the men but unfortunately, when it comes to fashion, people focused mainly on the women, so here goes:
Who can forget Hillary Clinton’s bright orange suit at her concession speech when she lost her nomination bid to Barack Obama? It gave her a softer look as she gracefully conceded to her rival.

How about the Palin effect? When Sarah Palin accepted the nomination for Vice President, she did not only make a great speech but the rimless glasses, the hairdo and the sexy secretary outfit made headlines as well.

The elegant, classy and stylish Cindy McCain was a head turner during the opening of the Republican National Convention. Surely no one could have missed the yellow-gold Oscar de la Renta stunning dress along with the expensive diamond earrings she wore that night.

Everyone remembered the ‘fist bump’ Michelle Obama gave her husband during the Democratic National Convention. That simple gesture endeared her to many supporters but everyone also talked about the purple dress she was wearing. She looked fabulous. That night the designer, Mario Pinto was one of the most searched individual in the Internet.

The top spot for me is none other than the much talked about $150,000 wardrobe that the Republican National Committee spent for Sarah Palin. Some people questioned if it was really needed but when you are often beside the ever stylish and always in designer clothes Cindy McCain, would you say no to the offer?
